Sunday 28th July 2013 saw the culmination of a great deal of work by the Be Creative team in helping to organize and promote the inaugural ‘Great Sussex Bath Race’ in aid of two worthy Sussex charities, Chestnut Tree House (children’s hospice) and Lifecentre (supporting victims of sexual abuse).
Our Account Director, Gemma King has worked tirelessly managing the project (which included a website, event branding, signage & team registration collateral) for the past four months alongside renowned adventurer and entrepreneur Neil Laughton, ensuring the smooth running and ultimate success of the event, which to-date has raised in excess of £13000 for the two charities – a figure which is still increasing.
On the day, the sun shone and the sense of fun was both tangible and infectious. 14 teams representing household name companies including Bentley Motor Cars, John Lewis and Virgin battled it out on the beautiful lake in scenes resembling the Mel Gibson turkey ‘Waterworld’, paddling bathtub and barrel rafts they had each constructed on the morning of the event, some of which were entertainingly lacking in structural integrity!
Later, during the trophy presentation, Neil showered Be Creative with liquid praise (Mumm Champagne) and singled out Gemma (with an enormous bouquet) for her tenacity and organisational skills having called in ‘favours’ from numerous suppliers and clients! Winners included, The Hungry Guest, Caremark Ltd, John Lewis at Home and Mayo Wynne Baxter with Juice 107.2 fm.
